Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
Outdoors in Autumn

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is also a talking therapy and extensive research has found that by recognising how our thoughts, feelings and behaviours all interact with one another, an overwhelming problem, can be broken down into smaller workable parts. For a wide range of problems, this approach can be highly effective.

A collaborative approach between client and therapist enables problems that are being experienced in the here and now to be identified. Together a shared understanding of the problem is developed which facilitates the

identification and creation of therapy goals which are to be worked on in a time-limited manner. The number of sessions you need depends on the difficulty you need help with.

The aim of this approach is to empower the client by drawing on their own resources, to discover both practical and psychological skills that will help them to resolve or manage their problems in the here and now and in the future too.
