Counselling and Psychotherapy are terms that encompass a range of talking therapies. They are delivered by qualified and experienced practitioners who offer a safe, non-judgmental and confidential space. In this environment a working therapeutic relationship is formed, enabling the client to explore their problems and promote well-being.

It is by offering these conditions that counselling can create a space for you to feel comfortable enough to express your deepest thoughts and feelings, and not be or feel judged; a feeling that some people have never experienced before in their life.

I offer a therapeutic relationship based on empathy, trust and respect, creating conditions that enable you to express and explore the inner thoughts and feelings that you may not be able to share elsewhere, for fear of negative response.

My approach means that you are kept at the centre of our work and together, we can help you find your right way forward.

Counselling and Psychotherapy

Counselling

Counselling often provides a short term talking therapy where you can explore issues or concerns affecting your life. Sometimes we know what is wrong and sometimes we just don't feel quite right, which can be uncomfortable.

We all have and use coping strategies to manage these uncomfortable feelings, which usually get us through but what happens when we face something and our current strategies don't work?

Sometimes, exploring more effective alternatives can be intimidating, we may fear being judged, getting it wrong or we just don't know where to start.

This is where counselling comes in and our sessions provide a safe, non-judgmental space to explore this.

Psychotherapy

If you have a longstanding issue or have ever found yourself facing the same problems time and time again, psychotherapy might be for you.

These difficulties can be detrimental to your relationships and yourself, preventing you from feeling satisfied in life.

Psychotherapy is longer-term open ended work offering you an opportunity to get to know yourself better. It can help you to understand why some of these patterns might be playing out.

By exploring how events from your past are impacting your present experiencesways to change your current situation can arise. This offers the potential to experience a more fulfilling life.
